Offtake for gigawatt scale P-t-X project
Complication:
Develop and negotiate offtake agreements for groundbreaking P-t-X-facility under circumstances where likely offtaker’s ability/willingness to be exposed to new risks, incl. new commodities, and new long term commitment is low.
Solution:
Working with both indirect and direct offtake, facilitating the establishment of joint industry programmes to remove real and perceived roadblocks for offtake and developing offtake models and agreements trying to appropriate risk in a way acceptable to the offtaker.
What we did:
Treetop Partners has assisted leading GW scale P-t-X project in DK with establishing relevant industry partnerships and maturing their offtake negotiations, incl.
- Managing the commercial process for entering into various partnership agreements, including setting up due diligence
- Managing the commercial process for entering into long-term offtake, this includes negotiation head of terms for offtake contracts on behalf of the project
- Running joint industry projects for indirect offtake opportunities including the establishment of a cross value-chain collaboration to assess the establishment of a green fuels hub and establishing a partnership to investigate the opportunity to establish green fertiliser production
